Role Overview
Actively participate with the management team in day‑to‑day store operations.
Assume responsibility for all daily store operations in the absence of the Store Manager.
Assist with coaching, training and development of store employees.
Maintain excellent customer/donor community relations, resolve complaints, and deliver quick and efficient service.
Coordinate daily morning and shift change team meetings when the Store Manager is absent.
Supervise employees to ensure compliance with published directives and guidelines.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Open and close the store, manage point of sale operations, inventory management, and ensuring ARC merchandising standards.
Monitor and analyze key performance indicators to drive store sales and increase profitability.
Schedule store employees, coordinate change of shift meetings, and maintain accurate payroll records.
Assist with hiring, training, and development of store team, including performance coaching.
Communicate personnel issues and performance results with Store Manager, HR, and District Sales Manager.
Ensure high levels of customer and donor satisfaction; develop strategies to maximize experience.
Support back‑room processing operations and maintain daily processing goals.
Ensure protection and security of store currency, inventory, property, and safe funds.
Maintain building security during non‑operating hours and report any incidents immediately.
Attend ARC monthly safety meetings in Store Manager's absence.
May be relocated to other stores as needed.
Complete all tasks assigned by District Sales Manager, Command Retail Directors, and Command Administration.
Qualifications
Available to work flexible hours during open store hours.
Effective communication with management, store employees, customers, and donors.
Minimum 2 years of Retail Management/Supervisory experience (thrift preferred).
Basic understanding of MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
High School Diploma or equivalent.
At least 18 years of age.
Valid driver’s license; able to pass MVR report (required) and show proof of insurance.
Must pass a background check including criminal history and sex offender registry.
Physical Requirements
Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis.
Ability to grasp, push, and pull objects such as merchandise carts and furniture dollies.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
