Comply with all organizational policies and safety rules, and report violations to the appropriate supervisor.

Responsibilities

Oversee technical and administrative functions related to the operation of the donor collection facility.

Ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures and regulations.

Perform pre‑donation screening, venipuncture, and post‑venipuncture care in accordance with SOPs.

Ensure accurate, legible completion of donor records promptly.

Perform necessary troubleshooting during technical procedures.

Review and approve donor and operational documentation for accuracy.

Maintain proficiency in required phlebotomy and apheresis procedures.

Enforce the Blood Center's policies on EEO, affirmative action, and safety/health.

Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

High‑school diploma or GED; associate degree preferred; LVN/RN desirable.

At least two years of phlebotomy experience.

At least one year of apheresis experience, including platelet apheresis.

Data analysis plus supervisory experience (one year) or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certificate of Phlebotomy strongly preferred.

EMT Certification or related associate degree strongly preferred.

Employees are required to stand, walk, use hands, reach, and lift up to 25 pounds, often 10 pounds, and may need to stoop, kneel, and climb. Specific vision abilities include color vision and close vision. Employees must be familiar with team lift requirements and safety program.

Work Environment The work environment includes exposure to moving mechanical parts, blood and blood products, and other biohazard materials. Exposure to fumes or airborne particles may occur. Noise levels are usually moderate. Job duties involve the potential for mucous membrane or skin contact with blood, posing risk of hepatitis and HIV exposure.
