POSITION SUMMARY The Title Clerk is responsible for processing all title related paperwork by working directly with the finance and sales team. Ensuring exceptional customer service by possessing outstanding organization skills and processing all required paperwork in a timely manner.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Identify automotive titles by analyzing documents properly; ensuring ownership and legal requirements are met in accordance to dealership guidelines

Serve as a liaison with Department of Motor Vehicles and submit all legal transfer paperwork required

Prepare Certificates of Origin and bill out dealer trades, as needed

Maintain a proper system to verify out-of-state titles

Compile and maintain a complete list of all outstanding title work. Report to management on the status of any missing or problem titles and provides a current list of outstanding titles to the controller at the end of month

Bill out all whole sale transactions and sign over titles for all wholesalers who have paid in full. Prepare a monthly report to management of any funds not collected from wholesalers due to missing or incomplete title work

Stock in all new and pre-owned inventory, makes stock folders

Communicate professionally and respond in a timely manner to customers and co-workers (via email, telephone, etc.) to handle title related inquiries

Adhere to title regulations, and ensure compliance with federal and state laws

Identify, investigate, and resolve any discrepancies related to title documentation issues

Keep an organized filing system of all title documentation, in accordance to dealership standards

Cross train on various accounting tasks to provide effective teamwork and productivity

Perform other job-related duties and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time

QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Work experience in automotive titles; dealership experience preferred.

Demonstrate knowledge in the area of account receivables

Advance computer skills, specifically in Reynolds and Reynolds

Understand the importance of and maintains confidentiality

Understand and follow work rules, policies, and procedures

EDUCATION High school diploma or equivalent.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally expected to travel, however the normal day-to-day operations will be conducted in a professional office dealership setting. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
