Quality Assurance Technician
Contract-to-Hire or Direct Hire (for the right candidate)
Location: Indianapolis, IN
Shift: 6:00 PM – 6:30 AM | 2-2-3 Schedule (Alternating weekends)
Position Overview The Quality Assurance Technician is responsible for conducting quality audits of beverage production to ensure product integrity and compliance with company, customer, and regulatory standards. This role supports food safety and quality systems, performs analytical testing, and serves as a quality resource for production and cross-functional teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities
Follow all safety procedures and maintain Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) at all times
Perform routine quality testing using lab equipment including HPLC, refractometer, pH meter, densitometer, Zahm Nagel, water bath, calibrated thermometers, and related instrumentation
Conduct qualitative and quantitative testing of beverages, syrups, water, and raw materials throughout the production process
Verify Brix, pH, acidity, color, flavor, fill levels, and weights; perform caffeine, sorbic acid, and benzoic acid testing
Perform line checks, packaging audits, allergen testing, ATP swabbing, and container/packaging inspections
Collect and manage retention samples and ensure proper hold and disposition of nonconforming products
Enter analytical results accurately into data collection systems and promptly report deviations
Participate in FSMA, SQF, Kosher, Organic, and third-party audits
Support Quality Management System and Food Safety initiatives
Train and support QA Technicians as needed
Maintain clean and organized lab and production areas
Work scheduled shifts, weekends, and extended hours as required
Qualifications and Experience
High School Diploma or GED required
Bachelor’s degree in a science‑related field preferred
One or more years of relevant experience, preferably in a manufacturing or food or beverage environment
Familiarity with lab safety practices and handling hazardous materials
Strong attention to detail, organizational, and documentation skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word
English proficiency required; Spanish is a plus

Effective written and verbal communication skills
Proactive, dependable, and adaptable
Strong work ethic with the ability to prioritize and multitask
Physical Requirements
Regular standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, and squatting
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
Requires close vision and ability to adjust focus
