Quality Inspector – Ottumwa, Iowa – Part‑time 1st Shift
TRIGO Global Quality Solutions has several immediate openings for Quality Inspectors in Ottumwa, Iowa. Pay is $18 hr and is a part‑time 1st shift position.
Reports to: Site Supervisor / Site Leads
Responsibilities
Client Relationship & Business Development – The Quality Inspector acts as an impartial third party between the production source and the customer facility to ensure the product meets set criteria.
Operations – The Quality Inspector performs quality inspection / quality audits on incoming material using hand gaging and visual techniques to determine conformance to specifications and fitness for use; contains non‑conforming parts and/or sub‑assemblies; rectifies non‑conforming material by rework, sorting and/or scrapping as directed by Team Leader; uses methods such as de‑rusting, grinding, drilling, tapping, assembly and/or disassembly to rectify non‑conforming material; determines the tools and equipment needed to do the job; grinds, sands, cleans and oils parts and/or sub‑assemblies by using hand tools or equipment.
Organization & Management – Communicate sort/inspection results to managers, supervisors and production source.
Technical – Must be able to use basic hand tools such as gaging, drills, taps, grinders and/or sanders to repair and/or clean parts and/or sub‑assemblies; utilize company portal for time recording and policy acknowledgements.
Qualifications
Hard skills – Proficiency in English; Excellent written and verbal communication skills; Ability to coordinate, prioritize and multitask; Demonstrated flexibility within a fast‑paced, challenging environment; Ability to take initiative and recognize needs; Ability to handle highly sensitive and confidential material; Ability lift /move 30 pounds; Must have reliable transportation.
Work experience – 1+ year in quality related position; Basic knowledge of materials and production processes; Basic knowledge of quality control methods.
Education – High School Diploma or Equivalent.
