Picker
Pull merchandise from stock for high-volume Business Center orders. Load items onto flat cart and/or pallet and transport them with a manual pallet jack. Pack cooler and freezer items in coolers. Operate the pallet jack to load delivery trucks.
Follow proper Picking department procedures for performance of duties and paperwork.
Lift pallet from a low stack and set it on the floor. Move pallet with manual pallet jack while observing safety and security procedures. Check manual pallet jacks and pallets, tagging any with defects. Use proper lifting techniques.
Obtain pick ticket from control desk. Scan pick ticket with a wearable hand scanner that lists the number and location of items to pull for an order.
Use manual pallet jack to transport pallet through warehouse and select items from floor stock to assemble orders. Check each pull to ensure correct item and quantity are pulled, and that the items are in good condition.
Enlist forklift driver to drop full pallets from steel shelves for large‑quantity item orders and spot forklift drivers to keep people out of the fall danger zone.
Enter the quantity or weight of each item pulled into wearable hand scanner. Note any approved substitutions and out-of-stock items.
Move completed orders onto trucks for delivery.
