Overview The Maintenance Technician plays a key role in keeping the facility running safely, efficiently, and reliably. This position handles day-to-day maintenance and repair of equipment, building systems, and production machinery, while ensuring all work meets EPA, OSHA, and Hazmat safety standards.
Job Duties
Perform troubleshooting, repairs, and routine maintenance on industrial electrical power systems, basic controls, and processing equipment.
Diagnose and service vacuum, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems to minimize downtime.
Support the installation and setup of new processing and packaging equipment under direct supervision.
Use hand tools and machine shop equipment to measure, cut, drill, and fabricate components within required tolerances.
Weld stainless steel and carbon steel as needed for equipment and structural repairs.
Execute preventative maintenance activities and document completed work accurately.
Maintain facility infrastructure, including building repairs and grounds upkeep.
Read and interpret basic electrical schematics, diagrams, and written instructions.
Follow all food manufacturing GMPs and safety protocols at all times.
Perform additional duties as assigned to support production and facility operations.
Qualifications
Preferably 5+ years of experience in maintenance, mechanical repair, or a related trade.
Experience in a meat or food manufacturing environment is highly valuable; familiarity with USDA/FSIS regulations is a plus.
Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to apply math concepts such as fractions, ratios, and proportions to real-world tasks.
Proven problem-solving skills with the ability to work from written, verbal, diagrammed, or scheduled instructions.
Positive attitude and commitment to maintaining a safe, collaborative work environment.
