Quality Assurance Specialist, Senior
to support the
Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Pacific’s Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT)
Division. This role ensures that all products, documentation, and processes meet company, Navy, and DoD quality standards. The Senior QA Specialist will audit quality data, maintain compliance with regulatory requirements, and support PNT program teams by ensuring accuracy, consistency, and adherence to established procedures. This position is ideal for a detail‑oriented professional with strong knowledge of quality regulations, data review processes, and documentation standards within technical or defense environments.
Key Responsibilities
Implement and maintain company and regulatory quality standards for products, documentation, and technical deliverables supporting NIWC Pacific’s PNT mission.
Apply knowledge of industry, Navy, and governmental quality regulations to ensure compliance across PNT‑related activities.
Audit, review, and validate quality data according to established procedures, identifying discrepancies and recommending corrective actions.
Document audit results, findings, and quality metrics in required formats and ensure proper routing to leadership and PNT stakeholders.
Support quality assurance reviews for PNT program deliverables, including technical reports, engineering documentation, and configuration‑controlled artifacts.
Assist in maintaining quality records, tracking corrective actions, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Ensure all PNT‑related products, data, and documentation meet required quality standards before submission to NIWC Pacific.
Collaborate with PNT engineers, program managers, and technical teams to ensure quality requirements are understood and integrated into workflows.
Support quality oversight for PNT system development, testing, and documentation processes.
Participate in PNT program reviews, audits, and technical discussions to provide quality assurance insights.
Help identify risks related to quality, documentation accuracy, and compliance within PNT programs.
Required Qualifications
Six (6) to nine (9) years of directly applicable experience in quality assurance, compliance, or related fields.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
An advanced degree may substitute for two years of experience.
Strong understanding of quality standards, regulatory requirements, and documentation control processes.
Experience auditing quality data and documenting results in structured formats.
Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to follow established procedures.
Ability to work effectively in a structured, compliance‑driven environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting DoD, Navy, or NIWC programs, especially in engineering, research, or technical environments.
Familiarity with quality standards relevant to defense programs, such as ISO, MIL‑STD, or Navy‑specific quality frameworks.
Experience supporting quality assurance for mission‑critical or high‑sensitivity technical programs.
Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
