Legal Assistant – General Liability | Los Angeles, CA (Hybrid, Temp-to-Perm)
A well-established and expanding litigation firm with offices nationwide is seeking a Legal Assistant to join its Los Angeles office. This role supports a dynamic general litigation team handling civil litigation matters. The position offers excellent long-term growth potential within a collaborative, team‑oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Draft, edit, and finalize legal documents including pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery, and correspondence
File and serve legal documents across California State and Federal courts
Liaise with courts, opposing counsel, clients, and vendors
Manage attorney calendars, including scheduling court dates, depositions, and deadlines
Coordinate travel, meetings, and trial preparation logistics
Open and organize legal files (physical and electronic)
Process expenses, vendor invoices, and track attorney billable time
Provide general administrative support as needed
Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years of experience as a legal assistant in a civil litigation environment
Familiarity with California court procedures (State and Federal)
Strong knowledge of legal terminology and litigation workflows
High proficiency with MS Office Suite and electronic filing systems
Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
High level of discretion and professionalism in handling sensitive information
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Additional Information:
In‑Office/Hybrid: On‑site in Los Angeles office for the first 1–2 months, with hybrid schedule thereafter.
Type: Temp-to-perm (3 months temporary, then permanent conversion).
