Senior Data Analyst – Data Analytics Team, 250 Nicollet Mall, MN. Support decision‑making of leaders across the business by applying storytelling, descriptive & predictive statistics, and programming skills.

What will you do?

  • Engage business partners on major projects, developing comprehensive analysis solutions, including adoption & utilization measurement, opportunity recognition, and predictive & prescriptive modeling.
  • Provide oversight and guidance for analytical initiatives, ensuring best‑practice design, governance, and effective presentation.
  • Partner with data engineers, finance, and business leaders to identify meaningful opportunities using statistics, advanced modeling, and compelling visualizations.
  • Continuously develop tools and information that help measure and improve processes, driving value for RBC clients and shareholders.
  • Evaluate new requests using best practices to negotiate deliverables, timelines, and direction that meet business requirements.
  • Develop an understanding of end‑user needs to deliver appropriately tailored solutions.
  • Review mission goals and ensure final deliverables match client needs through agile development, documentation, and iteration.
  • Leverage business understanding and experience to create scalable, verifiable solutions that best fit user requirements.

What do you need to succeed?

Must‑have

  • Strong analysis skills, investigating and explaining trends and variances using statistical techniques.
  • Advanced degree in a quantitative field (PhD/Master) with 3–5 years of professional experience or 3 years of work experience after an accredited university.
  • Ability to analyze large data sets using at least one data manipulation language (R, Python, SQL, SAS, etc.).
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong multitasking ability and adaptability to changing priorities.

Nice‑to‑have

  • Self‑starter with high energy, curiosity, and a drive for innovation.
  • Degree or experience in mathematics, sciences, engineering, finance, or information systems, or experience in financial services.
  • Experience applying AI/ML models to solve business problems.
  • Experience with Tableau, SAS or Alteryx.

For Minnesota, the expected salary range for this position is $65,000 – $115,000, depending on experience, skills, registration status, and business needs. This range excludes other total compensation elements such as discretionary bonuses and benefits, including a 401(k) program with company‑matching contributions; health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance; and paid time‑off plan.
