Our client is seeking a Finishing Production Supervisor to lead a high‑performance team in a fast‑paced, high‑volume manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for driving safety, quality, productivity, and continuous improvement within the finishing department. You will serve as the first‑line leader for your zone, ensuring your team is trained, supported, and successful.

Work Schedule: 2nd Shift (Mon–Thu, 3PM–1AM; occasional Fri OT 1PM–9PM)
Responsibilities:
Safety Leadership
- Ensure proper use of PPE and safe work practices.
- Enforce all OSHA, EPA, and company safety regulations.
- Promote ergonomic best practices and a safety‑first culture.
- Conduct regular safety audits and address non‑compliance immediately.
Team Leadership & Development
- Serve as the first point of contact for employee relations issues.
- Collaborate with union stewards on contract and discipline matters.
- Coach, mentor, and develop team members to build capability and engagement.
- Lead with a servant leadership mindset, modeling respectful and supportive behavior.
- Ensure employees receive proper training in safety, quality, equipment operation, and 6S.
Production & Operations Management
- Reduce WIP and support lean manufacturing initiatives.
- Coordinate staffing, workflow, and resource allocation for your area.
- Partner with technical staff to resolve equipment or process issues.
- Monitor production metrics and drive improvements in throughput, scrap, and efficiency.
- Oversee daily finishing operations to meet production schedules and quality standards.
Continuous Improvement
- Support Kaizen, Kanban, and lean manufacturing practices.
- Establish annual goals aligned with operational objectives.
- Identify and eliminate waste in processes, materials, and workflows.
- Foster a culture where every team member contributes to CI efforts.
Qualifications/Must Haves:
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Strong communication, coaching, and conflict‑resolution skills.
- Proven ability to lead teams using a servant leadership approach.
- Ability to read and interpret production documentation and follow standardized work.
- High school diploma or GED required, Bachelor's degree in Business, Manufacturing Engineering, or Operations preferred.
- 1–3 years of supervisory experience in a high‑volume, fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
- Basic understanding of process control, production scheduling, and lean manufacturing principles.
Preferred Skills:
- Exposure to union environments.
- Experience with 6S, Kaizen, or other CI methodologies.
- Prior internship or co‑op experience in manufacturing leadership.
- Experience supervising finishing, assembly, or similar production areas.
