The
Director of Infection Prevention (IP)
is responsible for leading, developing, and managing the facility’s Infection Prevention and Control Program. This role ensures regulatory readiness, compliance with state and federal reporting standards, and implementation of evidence-based infection control practices to promote patient and staff safety. The Director oversees surveillance activities, data analysis, outbreak management, prevention strategies, and systemwide education initiatives.
Required Qualifications Education (Required): Master’s degree in nursing, Education, Epidemiology, Public Health, Clinical Microbiology, or another health-related field (Required). Experience: 3–5 years of clinical experience in a healthcare environment (Required). 2+ years of experience in Infection Prevention or Epidemiology leadership (Required). Certifications: Current national Certification in Infection Control (CIC) – Required. Skills & Competencies: Strong understanding of infection prevention principles and epidemiology. Proficiency with CDC, AHRQ, CMS, TJC, OSHA, and NHSN standards. Skilled in data analysis, reporting, and performance-improvement methodologies. Excellent communication, leadership, collaboration, and presentation skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and maintain regulatory readiness at all times.
