Your Mission in Action The Facilities Manager oversees daily interior and exterior maintenance, janitorial duties, and safety operations to ensure a clean, secure environment in compliance with Agency policies, licensing standards, federal state, Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) and local regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
Oversee plumbing, HVAC, lighting, landscaping, trash removal and general facility upkeep to ensure continuous operations and a safe and clean environment.
Perform maintenance and repairs on locks, doors, cabinets, appliances, and other building fixtures.
Ensure the facility meets agency policies, federal CARF standards, state regulations, and safety requirements by performing regular inspection, and abiding by maintenance schedules to meet all necessary standards.
Regularly evaluate and document maintenance needs, performing preventative maintenance as per the CMMS system.
Periodically inspect building safety systems such as sprinklers, alarms, smoke detectors, and emergency lighting.
Prioritize and assign daily tasks, ensuring timely completion of maintenance projects including managing supplies for ongoing projects.
Ensure maintenance, inspections, and proper licensing for agency vehicles and facility equipment.
Search, communicate with and oversee contractors conducting projects throughout the facility.
Other duties and projects assigned.
Coach and support staff to ensure they have the necessary tools and resources needed to optimize performance, ensure established program goals, and achieve operational excellence.
Communicate with direct reports in periodic one‑on‑one meetings.
Organize and deliver regularly scheduled staff meetings to communicate present, ongoing, and future updates of pertinent information, projects, and initiatives.
Work closely with management team to interview, hire, and onboard new employees who are strong cultural fits for Upbring.
Work in collaboration with leadership and the People and Culture Team to arrange training; when needed, coordinate and/or provide in‑service training for staff development.
Regularly review employee performance, including goals and progress, to provide developmental feedback: use applicable agency development tools to facilitate growth and development in staff.
Draft and issue the 90‑day and annual evaluations, along with supporting documentation, as per established procedures; work in collaboration with staff to set goals during evaluation periods.
Minimum Qualifications
High School diploma or GED.
21 years of age.
Three (3) years of maintenance and repair experience, or One (1) year with certification in a preferred area.
Knowledge of tools, equipment, and safety standards for building maintenance and construction trades.
Ability to operate power tools and equipment safely and effectively.
Ability to handle emergencies with or without supervision.
Good color vision and ability to work in varying light conditions.
Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with diverse groups.
Experience in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC.
Strong time management, organizational, and prioritization skills.
Valid TX driver's license and auto insurance to be an authorized driver.
Preferred Qualifications
HVAC certification.
Certified Electrician.
Other relevant trade certification.
Travel This position may be required to travel up to 15%.

This position will require constant bending, kneeling, twisting, stretching, reaching, climbing up and down ladders, frequent walking, occasional sitting, and standing for long periods of time.
Position requires frequent standing, walking and time in units/dormitories which are areas where children reside.
Lift, push, pull, move up to 50 lbs.
May be required to apply safety intervention with youth that could weigh over 100 lbs.
