Southern Oxygen & Welding Supply is hiring: Warehouse Associate/Delivery Driver

Southern Oxygen & Welding Supply, in operation since 1970, is a local Family Owned and Operated business that is a leading distributor of Industrial, Medical, Specialty, Food & Beverage, Bulk gases and Propane, along with welding equipment and safety supplies in Southwest Florida. We are seeking a motivated individual to become a Warehouse Associate / Delivery Driver.

The candidate for this position will deliver compressed gas cylinders and hardgoods via pickup truck (Hot Shot deliveries) to established customers. Serve customers by meeting customer needs and resolving customer problems. In addition, this position assists with miscellaneous duties which include, but are not limited to filling of cylinders, maintaining the dock, cylinder maintenance, shipping and receiving and helping out as needed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Load and unload trucks
• Handle, maneuver, load and unload high pressure cylinders on trucks
• Turn in receipts and money received from deliveries
• Present bills and receipts and collect payments for goods delivered or loaded
• Clean, maintain and organize warehouse
• Ensure cylinders are adequately maintained – cylinders requiring maintenance or repair are removed from service until corrected
• Fill cylinders or containers to proper pressure or weight, whichever is appropriate
• Ensure cylinder filling records are accurately maintained and that all required procedures are followed in order to comply with local, state and federal regulations
• Conduct periodic checks of plant for safe and efficient operation
• Operate a forklift, pallet jack and other warehouse equipment.
• Ensure all safety rules are strictly observed.
• Comply with all DOT and OSHA regulations.
• Maintain appropriate drivers' license and endorsements.

Qualifications:

• 1 Year Driving Experience within the last 4 years
• Clean MVR / driving record
• Be able to routinely handle up to 100 lbs
• Forklift experience a plus, but not necessary
• Respond to official inquiries and make entries on reports and records

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must be at least 21 years old
• Understand highway traffic signs and signals
• Basic computer experience or knowledge a plus
• 1-2 years of experience in a cylinder distribution or industry related operation preferred
