Responsibilities

Work with and report to the project management team, communicating directly with customers throughout the RFQ and RFI process.
Receive and prepare bid packages, including printing, filing, organizing, and storing.
Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documents to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates for customers.
Perform accurate material quantity takeoffs and send out to vendors for material pricing.
Review and understand all bid documents, assess project risks, and prepare bid packages.
Ensure accuracy of all components of estimating spreadsheets, including labor hours, rates, internal cost allocations, assumptions, material, transportation, and all buyout services.
Manage delivery (and installation, if required) on projects.
Generate project schedules, preferably using MS Project.
Manage customer expectations by communicating capabilities, capacities, lead times, and quotes.
Strategically evaluate profit margin potential, project risks, fit, and competitive environment with senior management and project managers.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Prefer 3-5+ years’ experience as a Construction Estimator.
Ability to read and understand general construction plans and drawings.
Experience with MS Windows, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Experience with PDF review/editing software (Acrobat).
Ability to use CAD software, with 3D modeling preferred; create shop drawings from structural concepts as required.
Demonstrated initiative, conflict resolution, confidentiality, and professionalism.
