Construction Inspector - Aviation Location: Nashville, TN

Base pay range $60,000.00/yr - $70,000.00/yr

Duties / Responsibilities

Provides construction management services on multiple or complex projects at an international airport facility.

Provides ongoing construction inspection, quality assurance and performs specialty inspections.

Reviews contractor’s work, inspects delivered materials and verifies certifications.

Ensures compliance with approved construction documents, specifications, and contract requirements.

Records daily observations and reports non‑compliance.

Coordinates and verifies field testing of materials.

Reviews and approves pay applications.

Reviews contractor quality control and safety manuals and procedures.

Performs daily safety inspections.

Reviews construction plans and specifications.

Reviews contractor submittals for constructability and compliance.

This position requires heavy lifting, working outside in a variety of conditions on a regular basis, and ability to perform work independently.

Travel to construction sites is an essential function of this position; a valid driver’s license is required.

Extended hours and overnight stays may be required.

Education / Experience

High school diploma or GED with a minimum of 8 years of construction inspection experience.

Associate degree (two‑year) or Technical Training degree (two years) in construction management, engineering, or related field, with 6 years’ experience in construction inspection.

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field, plus 4 years of relevant experience.

8+ years of experience in construction inspection, construction materials testing, and/or observation in the transportation field.

State certifications in Materials Testing preferred, along with safety certifications.

Experience with airport construction projects.
