Job Responsibilities
Verify benefits for all hospital patients and coordinate pre-admission of inpatients and outpatients.
Collect and enter admission information into the computer database and distribute necessary details to ancillary departments.
Ensure patients understand hospital policies, procedures, and admission requirements.
Participate in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement (CQI) activities.
Demonstrate knowledge of hospital policies related to safety, security, and emergency preparedness.
Apply standard precautions and comply with OSHA and infection control standards.
Report safety and risk issues and complete incident reports as needed.
Actively contribute to performance improvement teams (e.g., NPSG, HCAHPS, core measures).
Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
Minimum/Preferred Requirements
High school graduate or equivalent.
Basic knowledge of insurance billing.
Typing speed of 40 wpm and general clerical skills.
Computer literacy and medical terminology knowledge.
