Position Summary The President provides leadership, vision, and strategic direction for the BethlehemChamber of Commerce and the Bethlehem Chamber of Commerce Foundation. This position oversees all operations, programs, and financial activities of the Chamber, ensuring alignment with its mission and long‑term goals. The President serves as the public face of the organization—representingthe business community, fostering collaboration, and advancing policies that support economic growth.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as a non‑voting member of the Board and committees.
Board Governance & Strategy
Plan and attend monthly chamber board meetings. Partner with the Board Chair to prepare agendas, reports, and materials for meetings.
Provide strategic leadership and recommendations to guide policy, programming, and growth.
Present monthly Director’s Reports and an Annual Report to the Board.
Support board development and recruitment of future leaders.
Financial Oversight
Oversee all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
Work with the Finance Committee to prepare and present the annual budget.
Maintain sound financial controls, cash flow management, andaccuraterecordkeeping.
Lead fundraising, sponsorship, and revenue‑generation strategies.
Organizational Leadership
Manage Chamber staff, including recruitment, direct supervision, performance management, professionalgrowth,and achievement of organizational goals.
Foster a high‑performance, collaborative, and accountable culture.
Implement efficient systems and structures to support operational excellence, includingthe creationof key performance indicators.
Membership Growth & Engagement
Develop and execute strategies for member recruitment, retention, and engagement.
Oversee and execute all membership and sponsorship sales activities.
Oversee member communications, satisfaction tracking, and data management.
Ensure Chamber programs and services deliver clear value to members.
Community & Government Relations
Serve as the Chamber’s principal spokesperson and ambassador. Buildpartnerships with local businesses, community organizations, and government entities.
Represent the Chamber on community boards and at public events.
Advocate for business‑friendly policies and legislative priorities at all levels of government.
Programs, Events & Marketing
Direct the planning and execution of Chamber programs, events, and initiatives.
Develop pricing, sponsorship, and marketing strategies to support growth.
Oversee all communications and public relations, including media outreach and campaigns.
Support educational opportunities and training programs for members.
Other Duties
Performadditionalresponsibilities as directed by the Board of Directors.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business, public administration, communications, finance,marketing,or related field, plus at least two (2) years of management experience in a business‑related field, including supervision of direct reports.
Demonstrated working knowledge of local, regional, and state political systems, and experience engaging with government or public‑sector stakeholders.
General knowledge of business practices with the ability to develop and forecast an annual budget, providetimelymonthly financial reports to theBoard,andmaintaincontrol of expenditures.
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to promote collaboration across the board, staff, membership, and community partners.
Experience in planning and executing events and programs that engage members and the community.
Excellent communication, public speaking, and presentation skills
Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Proficiencyin MS Office products
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with Bethlehem's local business and community landscape
Experience with an industry‑specific CRM (i.e.,Chamber Master)
Previousexperience managing a non‑profit or membership organization is preferred.
Work Availability
This is a full‑time, in‑person position
Flexible hours as needed to accommodate evening and weekend events
