This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on a wide range of Local, State, and Federal Government projects while further growing your technical expertise and leadership skills.
Responsibilities
Design civil systems including grading, drainage, utilities, and hydrology for a wide range of site development projects.
Serve as engineer of record for smaller, less complex projects while working under the supervision of a senior engineer on larger, more complex efforts.
Prepare engineering and stormwater management calculations, reports, and drawings.
Lead field investigations and support construction administration activities such as reviewing shop drawings and providing responses to RFIs.
Manage tasks through concept development to construction documents.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET‑accredited institution.
Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in Virginia, North Carolina, or the ability to obtain reciprocity within three months of hire.
4–6 years of progressive experience in civil/site engineering design.
Proficiency using Autodesk Civil 3D.
Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a project team.
Eligibility to work in the United States and ability to obtain a security clearance.
Desirable
Experience with site development and stormwater management design.
Familiarity with environmental permitting processes and knowledge of state and local regulations in Virginia.
