Position Summary The Manufacturing Technician III, Mechanic – Device Assembly reports to a Supervisor or Manager on the Manufacturing floor and supports Packaging operations. The role includes setting up, changing over, repairing, and maintaining equipment used in production, performing mechanical and electronic troubleshooting, providing basic mechanical training to Packaging Technicians, and serving as a resource for continuous improvement projects.

Schedule Day shift; 6:30 am – 6:00 pm. Rotating schedule: 2 days on / 2 days off, then 3 days on / 3 days off.

Job Responsibilities

Operate, monitor, troubleshoot, and perform maintenance on packaging equipment (picker, sorter, labeler, packer, checkweigher, printer, inspection equipment, palletizer, stretch‑wrapper, conveyors).

Work collaboratively with technical resources to resolve equipment issues.

Act as the first‑line technical resource and provide support to production technicians.

Resolve equipment‑related issues including start‑up, recipe selection/format setup, critical sensor challenges, and production problems.

Proactively monitor equipment and component conditions, perform preventive maintenance, and investigate abnormal conditions to prevent unplanned downtime.

Perform technician tasks such as start‑up, operation, manual packaging, batch execution, material handling, rework, cleaning, housekeeping and line clearance.

Operate light material handling equipment (motorized/manual pallet jacks, non‑motorized lifts) to move, store or deliver material safely.

Monitor material quality of incoming, in‑process, and finished materials; promptly report concerns to Lead Technician and Process Facilitator.

Maintain batch records, GMP documentation, and CMMS entries; perform required mathematical computation.

Follow safety procedures (PPE, ergonomics, LOTO, human safety, material handling, chemical handling, spill controls) and report discrepancies.

Adhere to SOPs, cGMPs, and established safety and quality procedures.

Other Responsibilities

Support lean activities and process improvement work (5S, problem‑solving, OEE tracking).

Lead Level 0 problem‑solving on equipment issues.

Act as a certified OJT trainer and conduct evaluations for team members.

Review process documents (SOPs, PM procedures, forms) for accuracy and suggest improvements while maintaining cGMP compliance.

Execute protocols for equipment qualification and process validation.

Assist other work areas within the Process Execution Team as needed.

Perform all assigned duties with minimal supervision.

Acquire and maintain required certifications and qualifications.

Demonstrate strong mechanical and electronic knowledge and aptitude.

Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.

Show willingness to learn new skills and develop capabilities over time.

Work effectively in a team environment.

Interpret technical documents and adapt to changing demands.

Accept occasional overtime with minimal advance notice.

Minimum Requirements

Prior experience in a regulated production environment, maintaining equipment performance.

Strong command of written and spoken English.

Ability to lift and handle equipment change parts, tooling, and materials required for maintenance and repair.

Preferred Background

High‑school graduate, vocational school graduate, or equivalent.

Associate degree in engineering or mechanical trade school graduate preferred.

Experience with automated equipment.

Training in mechanics, hydraulics, and electronic systems.

Knowledge of CMMS (e.g., SAP).

Experience with OEE, TPM, LEAN, or other continuous improvement methodologies.

Employment and Compensation Full‑time, day shift. Hourly range: $24.00 – $36.50 per hour, depending on location and experience. Base pay may vary.
