About the Role The Power and Control Technician position is a multi-skilled position responsible for the operation and maintenance of the electrical systems in the cement plant.
What You'll Accomplish
Troubleshoot and repair a diverse range of electrical equipment throughout the cement plant (Example: Instrumentation circuits, motor control circuits up to 13.8 kilovolts, low and medium voltage drives, monitoring analyzers)
Schematic reading & instrumentation calibration
Digital and Analog PLC program use in troubleshooting
Low and medium voltage cable routing, splicing and terminating
Basic mechanical activities (For example: Non-critical welding, laser alignment)
Perform walk‑by inspections & diagnostic checks
Maintain documentation, plan and organize work, participate in various team activities
Other duties as assigned.
Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviours.
What We're Looking For
Required Education:
High School Diploma/GED
Additional Education:
2 years’ electrical related experience in an industrial environment is required
Required Computer and Software Skills:
Effective computer and systems skills
Travel Requirements:
Minimal
Required to work with high voltages (up to 13.8 kV), work outside, at heights, warm temperatures and in confined spaces.
Position will be predominantly day shift but incumbent will be required to work shifts as necessary.
Ideal candidates would have a high technical aptitude
Ability to work in a team based environment
Experience in a heavy manufacturing environment for at least 1 year preferred.
Excellent electrical knowledge
Familiarity with National Electrical Code for applications up to 15 kilovolts.
Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
