We’re seeking a motivated Mechanical Engineer to support the design, analysis, detailing, and quality assurance of mechanical systems for diverse building projects. The ideal candidate has foundational experience in mechanical engineering and works well in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment to help ensure mechanical designs meet quality standards, applicable codes, and client expectations.

This position will report to our office location in Arlington, TN.

Salary Range: $80,000 - $100,000 annually

Essential Duties & Responsibilities The Essential Duties and Responsibilities are intended present a descriptive list of the range of duties, but not all duties performed for this position. Other duties may be assigned.

Assist in the design, analysis, and modeling of mechanical systems using industry-standard software and tools

Support the development of HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems for commercial and institutional buildings

Prepare mechanical calculations, drawings, and specifications under the direction of senior engineers

Utilize Revit and other BIM tools to develop coordinated mechanical designs

Participate in field inspections, job site visits, and inspection reports on a periodic basis as needed

Coordinate with architects, engineers, designers, and internal departments to support design feasibility, constructability, and compliance with applicable codes and standards

Support quality control reviews of mechanical documents and calculations

Maintain effective communication with project teams to meet project schedules and deliverables

Assist with proposal development, scope definition, and technical support as needed

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering

Engineering in Training (EIT) certification preferred

3–6 years of experience in mechanical engineering design for building systems

Proficiency in Revit and mechanical design/analysis software

Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical design principles and construction methods

Familiarity with applicable codes and standards (ASHRAE, IMC, IPC, etc.)

Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail

Effective written and verbal communication skills

Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams

Additional Qualifying Factors As a condition of employment, you will be required to pass a pre‑employment drug screening (post accepted offer) and have acceptable background check results. If applicable to the contract, you must also obtain the appropriate clearance levels required and be able to obtain access to military installations.

Essential and marginal functions may require maintaining physical condition necessary for bending, stooping, sitting, walking or standing for prolonged periods of time; frequent opportunity to move about and to work outside the office environment for extended periods involving exposure to the elements with weather that will include extreme heat, cold, wind, rain or other inclement weather, walking over rough and uneven surfaces, and routine lifting of up to 35 pounds. If required, must properly use personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times including but not limited to: hard hats, steel‑toed boots, eye protection, respiratory protection, and hearing protection. Must always maintain a constant state of mental alertness.

Working Conditions Job is performed in a combination of office and outdoor site locations. The office setting includes exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, and mouse. Outdoor settings include walking, driving, and carrying supplies throughout all seasons with exposure to heat and cold conditions, and potentially wildlife. Is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and loud noise.
