Overview The Tournament Coordinator is responsible for the successful planning, coordination, and execution of all golf tournaments at the Haggin Oaks Golf Complex. This position works closely with multiple departments-including Pro Shop, Maintenance, Catering, and Marketing-to ensure that every competitive championship, fundraiser, league, school event, club event, or play group runs seamlessly. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, an excellent communicator, and passionate about golf and customer service.

Tournament season runs from

March through October , and the Tournament Coordinator must be fully committed during these months.

Experience Required

Minimum

2 years of Golf Operations experience .

Minimum

5 years of golf playing experience , preferably including tournament play.

Experience handling all aspects of tournament operations: selling, detailing, hosting, and post-event follow-up.

Essential Responsibilities

Coordinate tee time reservations for tournament groups and ensure a smooth start.

Plan, set up, and manage tournament infrastructure such as tents, tables, signage, and course materials.

Act as the primary point of contact for all tournament clients, guests, and partners.

Collaborate with Pro Shop staff, starters, maintenance, and catering to ensure cohesive event operations.

Sell, detail, host, and follow up on events of all kinds, including:

Competitive Championships

Charity Fundraisers

Club Events & Leagues

School & Junior Programs

NCGA Associate Clubs

Play Groups and other organized outings

Support and help coordinate the Haggin Oaks Volunteer Program.

Maintain consistent pace-of-play expectations daily.

Build and sustain strong relationships with patrons, the Northern California PGA and NCGA, Sacramento Golf Council, City of Sacramento, junior tours, and community partners.

Exhibit effective multitasking and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment.

Provide exceptional customer service in alignment with Morton Golf's purpose, mission, and values.

Work collaboratively with the Tournament Director, other Tournament Coordinators, and all Haggin Oaks departments.

Benefits

Vacation:

Accrues at 3.08 hours per bi-weekly pay period; available after 1 year.

Sick Leave:

40 hours annually; available after 90 days.

Healthcare:

Eligible the first of the month following 60 days; Morton Golf pays a portion.
