Employment Details
Part time – 24 hrs a week2nd shift (off‑peak hours)
Every other weekend
3 holiday rotations a year
General Requirements
Ability to read, write, and understand English, and communicate effectively with patients, visitors, staff, and physicians.
One‑year medical office experience (scheduling, insurance, or registration) preferred. Hospital experience and/or medical terminology preferred.
Intermediate language, basic math, and intermediate reasoning ability.
Strong computer skills – Windows experience; database software, mainframe information systems.
Ability to convey a positive image and communicate tactfully and professionally with staff, patients, and the public.
Ability to articulate hospital policies and regulations.
Ability to work with diverse groups of people and under pressure.
Education
High school plus specialized training (minimum 6 months – 2 years). Completion of a Medical Secretary program or other general office training preferred.
