divh2Air Conditioning Equipment Operator/h2pThe Air Conditioning Equipment Operator operates the multiple-zone air conditioning plant consisting of several centrifugal chillers. The tasks assigned to the Air Conditioning Equipment Operator are more complex and require a broad knowledge of equipment and systems and receives little to no detailed instructions in the performance of assigned task. This position is within the Facilities Management Service./ppResponsibilities include:/pulliPlan and lay out work to be performed on a specific task such as ordering of material to construct and install duct work./liliPrepare duct work diagrams in planning and laying out work./liliInterpret drawings, specifications, schematics, operator and parts manuals, etc. of varying degrees of complexity for complete systems./liliCalibrate and balance complex energy management systems to meet and/or exceed design criteria./liliTroubleshoot complex air conditioning and refrigeration systems of unusual compressor arrangements and theories./liliPerform preventive maintenance inspections of HVAC systems and equipment including associated fire alarm devices as required./liliService all refrigerators, centrifuges, freezers, ice machines, etc./liliTroubleshoot and repair multi-zone air conditioning equipment with all necessary fans, pumps, cooling towers and controls./liliRepair of multiple pump and compressor systems such as primary and secondary chill water pumps, centrifugal and reciprocating chillers./liliPrepare requests for parts, materials, tools and services as needed to carry out work assignments./liliObserve pre-alarm conditions and respond accordingly to prevent damage to expensive systems./li/ulpWork Schedule: Varied Shifts/ppPosition Description Title/PD#: Air Conditioning Equipment Operator/PD70153A/ppPhysical Requirements: The duties of this position require physical exertion involving lifting, pushing, pulling, or carrying objects of varying weights, sizes and shapes. Physical effort is exerted in walking, running, climbing, crawling, and bending. Strain related to lack of movement such as standing in place, crouching, or stooping, for extended periods of time.
