Job Summary Equity Capital Markets (ECM) Summer Analysts work on public and private debt, equity financings, mergers and acquisitions, and financial advisory for a period of 10 weeks. Analysts enhance their financial analysis skills, understand capital markets, and contribute to high‑impact projects from research to presentations and due diligence.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Develop financial models to assess debt and equity financing alternatives.
Perform valuation methodologies, including comparative company analysis and discounted cash flow analysis.
Provide meaningful input for equity offerings, valuations, private placements, and M&A advisories.
Research, analyze, present, and document drafting elements of developing transactions.
Collaborate with senior bankers to craft client presentation strategies and create unique materials.
Analyze current industry events and assess their impact on clients and deals.
Maintain group databases for research and analysis.
Perform other duties as assigned, requiring independent judgment on business‑significant matters.
Knowledge and Skills
Fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of investment banking and the securities industry.
Tax, accounting, and financial markets knowledge.
Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
Analytical ability to assess market events.
Problem‑solving and solution‑design skills.
Independent thinking and idea development.
Technical proficiency with tools and systems for reports, communications, and presentations.
Qualifications
Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without current or future visa sponsorship.
Currently enrolled in an accredited undergraduate program.
Equivalent combination of experience, education, and/or training approved by HR (if applicable).
