Job Description:
The Systems Administrator supports the secure, stable, and resilient operation of critical DoD enterprise networks and IT infrastructure across geographically distributed SCSTC locations. This role involves the daily administration, sustainment, and troubleshooting of networks, servers, workstations, and virtual environments. Responsibilities include software/hardware installations, upgrades, patch management, and maintaining LAN/WAN architectures.
Required Skills and Experience
Four (4) years of system management experience
Strong knowledge of network infrastructure, protocols, and tools including LAN/WAN architecture, TCP/IP, and OSI model concepts
Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper‑V) and virtual machine management
Proficiency with server and client operating systems (Windows/Linux) and OS command-line utilities
Knowledge of IT security principles such as firewalls, DMZs, and system hardening techniques
Knowledge of data security standards and policies
Expertise in system diagnostic and maintenance procedures
Experience with remote access technologies and VPN security
Knowledge of wireless transmission protocols and jamming techniques (Bluetooth, RFID, IR, Wi‑Fi, etc.)
Experience with cloud computing deployment models (public, private, hybrid) and migrating workloads between them
Education/Certification Must possess a DoD 8570.01‑M IAT Level II certification (Security+ CE, CySA+, CCNA Security, GSEC, SSCP, and GICSP)
Security Clearance Active Secret clearance required at hire
Citizenship U.S. Citizen
Desired Skills and Experience
Bachelor's or advanced degree in Computer Science or Information Systems
Experience with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Bash) for automation tasks
Familiarity with ITIL v4 Foundation and advanced enterprise monitoring solutions
Prior experience supporting geographically dispersed Navy or DoD enterprise networks
