To safely and effectively lead, direct and motivate all operations personnel within an assigned area and follow established corporate policies, procedures and guidelines and deliver consistent results to our internal and external customers. This role is onsite.

Qualifications Education : High School Diploma or Equivalent; Associates Degree, Bachelor’s Degree (preferred).

Experience : 3 - 5 years of manufacturing or equivalent experience (preferred); 2 years of management or supervisory experience (preferred).

Areas of Knowledge (preferred) : Safety, Health and Environmental, Labor Relations, Business Analysis, Manufacturing, Management, Primary Metals Melting, Vacuum Induction Furnace, Metallurgy, Electro Slag Remelting.

Skills:

Written and oral Communication, Organization, Leadership, PC Literacy and Interpersonal Skills.

Global Accountabilities for the Role Safety/Environmental:

Effectively communicate corporate safety and environmental policies to direct reports. Take appropriate actions to ensure all assigned manufacturing procedures and practices are maintained in a safe and environmentally compliant manner that is consistent with company policy. Establish requirements with direct reports to ensure understanding and compliance with established policies.

Quality:

Effectively communicate corporate quality policy and goals to direct reports. Take appropriate action to ensure all assigned manufacturing procedures and practices support these policies and goals. Establish requirements with direct reports to ensure understanding and compliance with established goals.

Productivity:

Effectively communicate weekly and monthly production goals and direct reports. Take appropriate action and ensure all assigned manufacturing procedures and practices support these policies and goals. Establish requirements with direct reports to ensure understanding and compliance with established policies.

Cost/Stewardship:

Effectively communicate the corporate policy on cost to direct reports. Take appropriate action to remain within departmental budgets. Establish requirements with direct reports to perform duties in the most efficient and cost-effective manner possible, utilize materials to minimize all waste and recycle all leftover and waste materials when possible.

Specific Role Responsibilities

Meet or exceed the minimum safety requirements.

Lead daily toolbox talks, monthly safety meetings and audits, with prompt incident reporting.

Supervise and train hourly employees as needed on all shifts.

Maintain all Electric Arc furnaces, Vessels, Ladles and all Refractories to meet/exceed weekly and monthly goals.

Control internal consumables and reduce waste to improve departmental costs and meet budgetary requirements.

Schedule all departmental personnel for necessary overtime and daily vacancies.

Review all punches and enter all payroll hours against proper charge accounts in Kronos.

Initiate appropriate discipline of direct reports as needed.

Order supplies as needed.
