HCS IT Business Analyst - Boone NC

Summary Serves as a liaison between the business community and the IT organization to provide technical solutions that meet user needs. Analyzes business unit operations to identify opportunities to automate processes and improve efficiency, leveraging expertise in both the supported units and the IT organization’s systems and capabilities.
Location & Work Onsite in Boone, NC.
Responsibilities
Participate in systems evaluation to ensure standardization across the health system based on best practices and regulatory compliance; collaborate with designated committees to understand business and clinical technology needs.
Analyze user requirements, procedures, system capabilities, and issues to automate processing or improve existing workflows; work directly with departments to understand business processes and resolve issues.
Collaborate with IT support to provide exemplary customer service to all business units.
Ensure that new or revised software produces desired results by testing functionality and directing end‑user involvement in testing and piloting.
Interface with external vendors to support implementation, development, and delivery processes.
Maintain technical competence of assigned customer systems while understanding integration across supported systems; apply standard methodologies to improve work processes.
Participate in implementation of new and updated technology projects throughout the organization.
Participate in the problem management process to report defects, perform diagnostics, and assist in resolving issues.
Review computer system capabilities and workflow to determine feasibility of requested applications or modifications.
Translate high‑level business requirements into functional specifications and educate the IT organization on business direction; prepare educational materials such as system documentation and workflow diagrams.
Education Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience).
Licensure/Certification Requirements
No licensure or certification required.
Professional Experience Requirements
Two (2) years of experience as a business analyst or project manager with a Bachelor’s degree.
Four (4) years of experience as a business analyst or project manager with an Associate’s degree.
Six (6) years of experience as a business analyst or project manager with a high school diploma or GED.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Requirements
Excellent analytical and communication skills.
Ability to work well in a team environment.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Highly responsive to internal customers.
