Waterworks Product Services Specialist

to join our digital team. As a Product Services Specialist, you will

play a key role in supporting DSG’s product lifecycle and merchandising efforts . You will ensure that product data is accurate, product assortments are optimized based on performance metrics, and all information meets standards for internal and external needs. Your work will support strategic decision-making, e-commerce needs, and effective product categorization, helping DSG maintain its high standards of service for our customers and partners.

A Typical Day in the Life of a Waterworks Product Services Specialist at DSG

Product Maintenance: Maintain products via standardizing data fields and ensuring descriptions are accurate and up to date.

Data Standardization & Quality: Ensure product information aligns with internal standards and requirements for descriptions, categories, and specifications.

Product Lifecycle Management: Coordinate product recall processes and manage the transition of products through their lifecycle, including handling discontinued products and introducing new product additions.

Product Costing: Manage and govern product pricing data attributes such as replacement cost, market cost, list price, price line, and other pricing attributes.

Pricing Management: Track and communicate price changes and assist with formatting and loading to ensure accurate pricing data.

Product Categorization: Maintain accurate categorization of products to support internal organization and enhance customer searchability.

E-commerce Support: Maintain product suggestions and support e-commerce strategies, collaborating with the team to ensure accurate product representation online.

Inventory Returns & Excess Assistance: Support inventory returns and provide solutions for excess stock, ensuring minimal impact on product assortment and warehouse space.

Assortment Analysis & Decision Making: Analyze product assortment using sales, margin, and vendor strategy data to make informed decisions on product selection, removal, and placement. Work closely with sales and vendor teams to align product offerings with business goals and optimize category performance.

Vendor & Margin Strategy: Collaborate with segment to provide product performance reporting & analytics to drive assortment strategies and inform vendor negotiations.

Performs other duties as assigned.

A Successful Waterworks Product Services Specialist Typically Has

2-4 years in a product services, merchandising, pricing, or category management role, ideally in a retail or industrial distribution environment.

Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency with data management tools and ERP systems (experience with Eclipse is a plus).

Familiarity with product lifecycle management, e-commerce best practices, and data standardization.

Experience analyzing sales, margin, and vendor data to make data-driven assortment decisions.

Excellent communication skills to effectively track and report on changes, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and support customer needs.
