Position Overview GSI is seeking a Head Coach for one of our youth travel volleyball teams. This part‑time role with monthly stipend is ideal for an energetic, dependable coach who enjoys mentoring young athletes and competing in a team‑focused environment.
This position includes evening practices three times per week and weekend travel to in‑state and out‑of‑state tournaments.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and lead 3 evening practices per week focused on skill development, team systems, and game strategy.
Coach the team at weekend tournaments, including out‑of‑state travel.
Foster a positive, structured, and supportive team culture.
Communicate clearly and professionally with athletes, parents, and GSI staff.
Collaborate with assistant coaches and program leadership.
Support player growth aligned with GSI standards and values.
Attend required meetings, trainings, and evaluations.
Qualifications
Prior volleyball coaching experience (club, school, or comparable level required).
Prior volleyball playing experience required.
Experience working with youth athletes.
Availability for evening practices and weekend travel tournaments.
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to serve as a positive role model for young athletes.
Monthly contract payout (based on experience).
Additional income opportunities through private lessons.
Potential for expanded roles within the club.
Knowledge of safety protocols and injury prevention in athletic training.
Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Sports Science, or related field preferred.
3+ years experience in a coaching or leadership role in sports.
