Position
Sales Clerk – hourly rate $15.00 / hour. Location: Honolulu, HI – Exchange. Work schedule: Intermittent (0‑19 hours/week). Opening date: 01 January 2026. Closing date: Until filled. Pay plan/series/Pay band: NF‑2091‑01. Announcement number: 6578.
Responsibilities Welcome customers, maintain product knowledge, and assist with merchandise selection.
Respond quickly to all customer concerns and provide outstanding customer service, including demonstration and/or explanation of technical features.
Operate the cash register: receive cash, checks, credit cards, debit cards, and gift cards; give accurate change; record sales; balance the till; record money, stamps, checks, and charge slips.
Conduct periodic stock counts and inventory participation; perform price changes (markdowns/markups) and set company promotions; ensure proper signage and item labeling.
Replenish stock and maintain merchandise in a neat and presentable condition.
Follow all loss‑prevention policies and be proactive about shrink and the alert line.
Follow all established safety standards and emergency preparedness requirements.
Work weekends as required.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications High‑school diploma or GED; ability to read, comprehend, and explain product literature; basic arithmetic skills for stocking and inventory.
Physical ability to routinely lift 10 lb and occasionally 25 lb; ability to stand for long periods.
Previous retail merchandising or cashier experience (preferred).
