Salary Scale $105,000 to $110,000 (Dependent upon qualifications)
Position Overview The Department of Civil Engineering and Construction Management at California State University, Northridge (CSUN) seeks a tenure‑track faculty member in Construction Management at the rank of Assistant Professor. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate courses, advise students, supervise graduate research, and engage in curriculum development, assessment, and accreditation activities. Service to the department, college, and university is required. The position may involve teaching on weekdays, evenings, weekends, and/or online.
Required Qualifications
Ph.D. and B.S. in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a closely related discipline from an accredited institution. ABD candidates acceptable if doctoral degree completed before August 19, 2026.
Teaching experience or strong potential to teach Construction Management or Civil Engineering courses at the College/University level, in‑person and/or online.
Published at least two papers in peer‑reviewed conferences or journals within the last five years.
Preferred Qualifications
Evidence of effective engagement with a diverse student body.
Experience using culturally responsive pedagogy that leads to equitable outcomes for all students.
Experience creating a student‑centered learning environment.
Research/lab experience that includes working with students from diverse backgrounds.
Experience adopting inclusive approaches to mentoring.
At least three years of industry experience in construction management or construction engineering.
Demonstrated excellence in teaching courses in construction management or construction engineering.
Demonstrated ability to conduct research in the field of construction management or construction engineering as shown in the research statement.
Participation in grant proposal preparation, either as PI or Co‑PI.
