THE POSITION: Our Exercise Specialists are one of the most integral positions in our company and play a crucial role in establishing and maintaining relationships and driving the patient experience. Exercise Specialists will assist patients with their exercises and modalities as directed by the treating therapist. Exercise Specialists must demonstrate dedication to providing care that improves the total health of our patients to ensure the maximum benefit is gained from each session.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work closely with the PTs/PTAs/OTs/COTAs to work through prescribed exercises and modalities.
Demonstrate exercises including but not limited to jumping, balancing on one leg, rotation of the shoulder in multiple planes, and using exercise equipment.
Build strong relationships with clients and clinical staff.
Perform modalities such as ultrasound, E-Stim, and application of cold/hot packs.
Chart progress and daily exercise completion in patients’ medical records.
Set up and take down equipment. Keep therapy areas clean, safe, and well organized.
Support clinic team with other duties such as cleaning facilities, assisting front office staff, and completing clinic projects.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma (Bachelors degree in related field preferred)
Experience in a customer facing position
Knowledge and ability to demonstrate body mechanics, functional movement, and exercises
Knowledge and adherence to HIPAA laws and compliance regulations
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work for extended periods of time at a video display terminal and will be required to use a keyboard to enter and gather information.
Physical activity including but not limited to bending, reaching, squatting, lifting and prolonged periods of sittingand standing.
Required to work at the IRG clinic and be responsible for your own transportation to and from work site.
PAY & BENEFITS INFORMATION:
Base salary: $17-$20 per hour depending on experience.
