Software Engineer (Flight + Plan)

Arvada, CO.
The Software Engineer will design and integrate scalable backend systems that enable mission planning and flight operations for satellite constellations. The role involves close collaboration with software and aerospace engineers to deliver high-performance, cloud-based solutions.
Responsibilities of the Software Engineer include:
Design and implement backend services in Python and Java for mission planning and flight operations
Develop and validate algorithms for modeling complex physics-based concepts and operational workflows
Build and integrate APIs with distributed systems and cloud infrastructure for scalability and resilience
Optimize software performance and ensure maintainability, security, and cost efficiency
Deploy containerized applications and support CI/CD pipelines for production environments
Collaborate cross-functionally with satellite operators, product managers, and engineering teams
Qualifications for the Software Engineer include:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, or related technical field
3–5+ years of experience in backend development, modeling & simulation, or full-stack engineering
Proficiency in Python and Java; experience with C++ or Rust is a plus
Hands‑on experience with AWS services (Lambda, ECS/EKS, EC2, RDS, S3) and containerization (Docker)
Familiarity with API development, distributed systems, NoSQL/relational databases, and event‑driven architectures
Active U.S. Security Clearance (Secret required; TS/SCI preferred) or ability to obtain clearance
Compensation for the Software Engineer includes:
Salary Range: $150,000 - $180,000 depending on experience
