Position Title Post‑Doctoral Research Fellow (PDRF), New York Proton Center (NYPC)

Location Manhattan, New York City, New York (NYPC’s state‑of‑the‑art proton therapy facility)

Position Summary The Post‑Doctoral Research Fellow (PDRF) will design and conduct research within a specific field while receiving advanced training from a designated Principal Investigator to enhance professional skills and research independence needed for pursuing a professional career in Medical Physics. The initial appointment is for one year and renewal is expected upon the PDRF’s performance.

**Sign‑on Bonus** – Eligible for a sign‑on bonus per NYPC’s standard compensation policy.

Responsibilities

Participate in current proton FLASH therapy projects, support the cell and small animal FLASH experiments, grants and upcoming clinical trials.

Participate in existing clinical projects in adaptive proton planning, online treatment evaluation, motion mitigation and new clinical protocol implementations.

Support the Radiobiology‑guided therapy program and develop criteria to guide the new clinical workflow.

Comply with all NYPC policies related to privacy rules established under the Health Information Privacy and Portability Act of 1996 (HIPAA).

Provide other clinical and research support as needed.

Qualifications

Ph.D. degree in Physics, Engineering, Computer Science or related fields.

Strong programming skills with MATLAB and Python; scripting skills in Eclipse preferred.

Experience with Eclipse API scripting (C#), medical image analysis, and image processing.

Knowledge of Monte Carlo simulation for proton therapy.

Must possess strong technical problem‑solving skills.

Strong oral and written communication skills.
