Job Summary This employee serves as the primary mid-level provider and outpatient HIV provider for the Vanderbilt Comprehensive Care Clinic. Knowledge and experience in HIV monitoring, treatment, management of chronic medical conditions, and preventive care are required. Common conditions treated include HIV, sexually transmitted infections, diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, COPD, and respiratory infections.

Department Summary The Department of Medicine’s Division of Infectious Diseases enhances prevention and treatment of infectious diseases through discovery and application of new knowledge integrated with mentorship of trainees. The division emphasizes interdisciplinary collaboration, lifelong learning, professionalism, global perspective, and compassion in every clinical encounter.

Position Shift Full-time position with 8 half-day clinics and 2 half-day administrative sessions.

Key Responsibilities

Assessment of health status and complete history and physical examination for acute and complex chronically ill patients.

Diagnosis and formulation of differential diagnoses by priority, and management of diagnostic tests.

Plan of care formulation, evidence-based guideline implementation, and modification of care plans.

Communication and collaboration with interdisciplinary health care team; facilitation of continuity of care.

Documentation of key components via daily progress notes, transfer, discharge summaries, and clinic notes.
