Responsibilities
Complies with nursing policies and procedures to ensure nursing standards are met. Promotes optimal health for clients.
Administers medications and treatments per physician’s orders and in accordance with state and federal guidelines.
Administers medications via all routes, without restriction, including controlled substances.
Assists clients with all health and medical devices, including but not limited to glasses, hearing devices, tracheotomies, G/J tubes, colostomies, urostomies, apnea monitors, CPAP machines, ventilators, oxygen, oxygen concentrators, nebulizer machines, suction devices, suctioning toothbrushes, etc.
Monitors clients for seizures, medication side effects, signs, and symptoms of illness, and provides necessary nursing interventions.
Informs the physician of health status change/accidents and injuries of clients. Notifies Director of Nursing or Health Care Coordinator of emergency situations.
Assists with quality assurance reviews, files documents in charts, and purges charts.
Assists with Respiratory Therapy and IV Therapy as needed to include pushing IV medications and mixing of IV medications.
Assists with clinical evaluations and assessment of medication administration and/or understanding of medical procedures of clients.
Attends and participates in meetings and trainings.
Ensures client’s mealtime procedures and therapeutic positioning procedures, including client transfers, are followed.
Reports to work for scheduled shifts. May be scheduled to work other shifts, holidays, and weekends to provide nursing coverage.
Reports to work during inclement weather to provide nursing coverage and assist with emergency procedures.
Participates in outings and appointments, including, but not limited to, loading, and unloading clients on and off vehicles, monitoring clients during transport, and assisting clients during outings.
Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited nursing school for Registered Nurses (RN) required.
Current unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Florida required.
Florida Driver’s License with no more than two moving violations in the past three years.
Able to work in the US and not require Visa Sponsorship from our company now or in the future.
Effectively communicates at all levels, writes, and speaks English using acceptable grammar, punctuation, and spelling, understands and follows multi‑step written and verbal instructions.
