Overview
Critical Care Paramedic (CCT) role at Superior Air-Ground Ambulance Service. Openings in multiple locations: Elmhurst, Oak Lawn, Markham, Chicago (Illinois Medical District & Chicago North), Des Plaines, Green Oaks, Schaumburg, Aurora, Elgin, Cary, Joliet, Evanston, Rockford, Grayslake.
Company history: Superior Ambulance Service started in 1959 and today is the largest independent, locally owned, and operated emergency medical services provider in the Midwest. Superior employs more than 3,500 licensed EMTs, Paramedics and Nurses, operating a fleet of more than 800 ambulances throughout Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, and Wisconsin. Superior also provides Critical Care, helicopter, and fixed wing emergency medical transportation.
Responsibilities
Provide high quality care to patients in the transport environment under direction of Program Medical Director and referring or receiving Physician in accordance with Critical Care policies, protocols and standards of care.
Autonomously evaluate critically ill or injured patients of all age groups (pediatric through adult), provide therapeutic intervention, emergency interventions and prepare for transport from hospitals or accident scenes.
Maintain clinical proficiency across all aspects of Critical Care Division scope of practice including care of patients with neurological emergencies, cardiac emergencies, pediatric emergencies, obstetrical emergencies, traumatic emergencies and any other patient populations transported by Critical Care Division.
Maintain clinical competency in all critical care procedures and equipment including but not limited to ventilators, IV pumps, dopplers, chest tubes, hemodynamic monitoring, Intra-Aortic Balloon Pumps, ventricular assist devices, Impella cardiac assist devices, transcutaneous/transvenous pacers, external ventricular drains and advanced airway management.
Qualifications
2 years current ALS experience.
Current Critical Care certification.
Valid driver's license, satisfactory driving record and must be able to safely operate a vehicle in various conditions, including daytime, nighttime and inclement weather.
Education
Paid continuing education including maintaining of certifications.
NRP within 1 year of employment.
Hours Full Time.
