Provider Advisor, CDI Education
ArchWell Health is seeking a Provider Advisor, CDI Education to report directly to the Chief Clinical Officer, and serve as a key member of the market clinical documentation education team. The role focuses on advising and educating providers on Medicare Advantage Care, overseeing the Clinical Documentation (CDI) support team, and collaborating with CCACPs, Market Medical Directors, Clinical Applications, Quality, Pharmacy, Compliance, and operational teams to improve value‑based care across multiple markets. Job Summary
The Provider Advisor will act as the subject matter expert on clinical documentation, driving quality improvement and ensuring compliance with Medicare and CMS regulations. Responsibilities include training, scheduling, data analysis, and partnership with internal and external stakeholders to elevate documentation integrity. Essential Duties / Responsibilities
Update onboarding and training materials to reflect changes in ICD‑10 and yearly CMS final notices for Medicare Advantage. Develop and maintain a documentation education schedule for all West market providers. Partner with the Clinical Application team to improve electronic documentation of member encounters. Analyze disease prevalence trends, suspect diagnosis assessments, redocumentation rates, and report findings to the Senior Market Medical Director and SVP of Operations. Develop case reviews and training plans to improve prevalence rates. Provide live, in‑market and virtual, introductory and ongoing training in clinical documentation to new providers and the CDI support team. Conduct monthly (or more frequent) training sessions for market providers as needed. Attend health plan Joint Operating Committee (JOC) meetings as required. Support providers, the CDI team, and CCACPs on clinical diagnosis criteria and disease process recognition. Serve as an expert resource to coders and providers on clinical documentation. Develop programs that drive quality improvement in documentation integrity and compliance. Work with vendor partners on supplemental education programs. Assume additional responsibilities and duties as requested by senior leadership and the Chief Clinical Officer. Required Education and Experience
MD, DO, NP, or PA degree. Minimum of 3 years’ experience with Medicare Risk Adjustment. Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or Certified Risk Adjustment Coder (CRC) preferred. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Experience with Electronic Medical Records. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams). Ability to travel to visit centers to provide education. Excellent presentation, verbal, and written communication skills. Ability to exercise independent judgment. Sensitivity to the diverse needs of culturally diverse staff, patients, and communities.
