Who are we looking for? The successful candidate for the Chemical Engineer position will work directly with other internal teams, including engineers and chemists, to complete projects in support of process and product development. The Chemical Engineer will facilitate the development and launch of brand‑new chemistries to support MacDermid Alpha’s high‑growth markets in the semiconductors business, specifically working on scaling up our Active Copper products.
What will you be doing?
Makes and packages lab/pilot scale batches following instructions and safe lab practices.
Operates related equipment involved in making products from lab to production scale.
Reviews orders, including raw material availability, and plans accordingly to meet product ship dates.
Carries out experiments provided by project leader or manager.
Collects and consolidates data during experiments and effectively communicates results with key stakeholders and colleagues.
Conducts raw material and equipment evaluations and makes recommendations to promote product quality, safety and efficiency.
Supports the scaling of the production process from pilot to high‑volume manufacturing, including developing robust manufacturing instructions, validating full‑scale batches, and training operators.
Conducts and manages shelf‑life studies and provides updates to the team.
Enters process and product waivers as required.
Manages equipment calibration records.
Operates equipment and follows procedures in accordance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and OHSAS 18001 standards.
Who are You?
A bachelor's degree required in a STEM field, Chemistry or Chemical Engineering preferred.
Minimum of 1 year of experience, 3 years preferred, of relevant manufacturing experience.
Pilot production or scale‑up experience is preferred.
Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
Commitment to continuous learning and professional development, staying abreast of industry trends and best practices.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with the capacity to interact effectively at all levels of the organization.
