Position Overview The Department of Military & Veterans Affairs, Southwestern Veterans Center provides dedicated, superior care to our veteran residents and their spouses. We seek hard‑working, enthusiastic, compassionate, and caring individuals committed to providing exceptional care.
Responsibilities
Plan, implement, and evaluate all assigned resident care in collaboration with a Registered Nurse.
Ensure adherence to HIPAA standards.
Improve residents' quality of life by providing the best care possible.
Work Hours & Additional Information
Full‑time employment (8 hours/day; 40 hours/week).
Positions are available on the following shifts:
1st shift (6:00 AM – 2:30 PM)
2nd shift (2:00 PM – 10:30 PM)
3rd shift (10:00 PM – 6:30 AM)
Rotating days and weekends; working every other weekend is required.
Lunch period: 30 minutes.
Telework: Not available.
Salary: Starting annual salary of $67,558.00 (before taxes) for new employees within Pennsylvania.
DMVA Nursing Referral Program: Referring employees and referred candidates may be eligible for payments up to $4,000.
Required Experience, Training & Eligibility
Active authorization to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse in Pennsylvania.
Employees with an active temporary practice permit must obtain licensure within one (1) year as defined by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.
Other Requirements
PA residency requirement is currently waived.
Applicants within 60 days of completing an approved licensed practical nursing program are eligible; must show proof of a current, valid PA temporary practice permit or license.
Must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements
Position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
Conditional offer may require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports (PA State Police and FBI clearance).
Conditional offer may require completion of a medical examination.
