Sonographer Student Intern

Job Summary:
Provide ultrasound services to patients within the student scope of practice.
Job Highlights

Schedule: PRN hours aligned with academic schedule
Pay Range: $15/hour with daily pay available
Shift Differentials: night, weekend, and additional shifts
Location: St. Joseph Hospital – St. Charles, MO
Primary Responsibilities
Prepare and position patients and select exposure factors under direct and indirect supervision.
Follow safety standards and perform appropriate quality control procedures.
Assist supervising technologists and physicians in a variety of ultrasound procedures including pelvic, abdominal, small parts, routine vascular examinations.
May perform more complex imaging such as deep Doppler, guided interventional procedures (biopsies, ablations), and musculoskeletal ultrasound.
Record images, relay a clinical impression as indicated.
Maintain a clean, safe, orderly department (procedure rooms, storage areas, dressing rooms).
Notify staff of supply needs, equipment malfunction, and maintenance requirements.
Work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Education & Qualifications
Current enrollment in a 2nd year Sonography program.
No previous experience required.
Required Professional License and/or Certifications: None.
Physical Requirements
Constant standing and walking.
Frequent use of vision and depth perception (near 20 inches, far 20 feet).
Frequent use of hearing and speech for oral communication.
Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling of objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
Frequent lifting/moving of patients.
Frequent reaching, gripping, and data entry.
Occasional lifting/pushing of objects 25-50 lbs.
Occasional use of vision to identify colors.
Occasional bending, stooping, squatting, twisting, repetitive movements.
Rare kneeling and sitting.
