Registered Nurse Lead AHN – Atrium Health Navicent Health Medical Center – 36 hrs/week – Full Time – Variable day shifts – Pay Range $40.30–$60.45 per hour.
Overview Provides leadership to the nursing team, coordinates patient care, and ensures smooth patient flow in the Acute Care – Medical/Surgical unit. Serves as charge nurse when not in administrative role, assists in education, and facilitates interdisciplinary communication.
Major Responsibilities
Coordinate patient care and throughput, serve as clinical resource and role model.
Anticipate medical/psychiatric needs for high‑risk patients, develop safe/effective plans, and facilitate appropriate clinical pathways.
Lead daily rounds, focus on discharge planning, and act as liaison between patient/family, physicians, and interdisciplinary team.
Manage staffing, review and adjust assignments, and anticipate future staffing needs.
Participate in staff performance evaluations, provide orientation and education for new staff, and ensure competency checklists are completed.
Licensure & Certifications
Current Georgia RN license.
Annual completion of hospital mandatory training and all required competencies.
Education Graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.
Experience
Minimum 6 months as a Clinical Nurse.
Preferred 2 years Clinical Nurse experience and 6 months charge nurse experience.
Key Knowledge, Skills & Abilities NA – competency to be assessed during interview.
Physical & Working Conditions
able to use good body mechanics, lift up to 60 lbs, assist transfers and transport supplies.
tolerate noisy, busy environment, and occasional exposure to infectious agents.
