Position Description . The HR Generalist will support the HR Manager with the administration of Human Resource policies and procedures to ensure compliance with Company policies and Federal, State and local requirements. The role requires a high energy level with a focus on administration, compliance, analysis, and customer service.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Partner with HR and Payroll teams in the New Hire & Onboarding Process, performing new hire orientation, entering and verifying accurate employee information into HR/PR systems, performing I-9 verifications, and ensuring onboarding components are completed.
Assist HRM with leave management, benefit administration, attendance tracking and performance appraisal processes.
Assist in the Company Recruiting Program: creating campaigns, tracking applicants, posting positions, participating in selection processes, and attending job fairs/events.
Assist in Training and Learning & Development programs: tracking progress, sending reminders, researching opportunities, and facilitating training.
Oversee background check processes for the company and maintain records in the HR system.
Oversee unemployment hearing responses and fact-finding interviews.
Partner with Payroll on administrative tasks such as time off requests and leaf coordination.
Assist in employee relations duties: document preparation, employee interviews, and policy interpretation.
Support Operations and Safety on administrative projects: attendance records, certification tracking, background checks, training reports, etc.
Maintain complete and orderly personnel files and transmit information as needed.
Perform related work as required or directed by HRM or Executive Leaders.
Escalate critical or sensitive issues to HRM or Executive Leaders with recommendations for resolution.
Other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications Preferred Education and Experience
2‑5 years’ HR experience, preferably within the construction industry.
Detail oriented with the ability to multi‑task and adapt to changing priorities.
Works well independently and collaboratively.
Maintains confidentiality of sensitive information.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.

Physical Demands Work at a computer for extended periods, lift up to 25 pounds, walk, reach, and occasionally commute to field locations. Field visits may expose the employee to outdoor weather conditions, extended sunlight, moisture, cold, heat, and moderate to loud noise.
Work Environment The role requires long periods sitting at a computer and traveling to field sites. The employee may be outdoors and exposed to weather, sunlight, moisture, temperature extremes, and noise.
