Base pay range $122,300.00/yr - $165,400.00/yr
POSITION SUMMARY This position leads a 50 employee two shift high speed machining center with medical device subassembly included. The primary responsibility of this position is strategic in nature and involves the following: development of people, this includes employee motivation, employee communication, employee training/cross‑training and employee job satisfaction; policy deployment creation; formulation of strategies to achieve targets and promote continuous improvement efforts; establishment of goals, monitoring results and closing the GAP to target.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree required.
Advanced College Degree Preferred
10+ years of experience in a machining or manufacturing environment, ideally medical device. Experience in high volume assembly.
Prefer 5+ years of experience supervising a team of 20 or more people.
Individual needs to possess strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Displays leadership competencies, including the ability to delegate, engage, and inspire others.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
Proven Project Management skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Knowledge and experience to apply Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Continuous Improvement principles a plus. Lean Six Sigma Belt Preferred
Understanding of FDA and ISO standards.
Intermediate to advanced level MS Office skills desired.
Knowledge of ERP (such as SAP) preferred.
Able to develop and maintain 24‑7 systems to ensure key assets meet demand.
Experience with Machining Production Management system (such as Machine Metrics) Metrics or similar to analyze and keep the shop in control.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be punctual, able to sustain attendance guidelines, and work hours as assigned.
Ability to flex schedule to meet business needs.
Frequent driving on company business is required as part of this job.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES People

Position’s major responsibility is the leadership of the departments reporting into this function.
Establish, develop and maintain adequate training and development programs for department personnel.
Help manage employee relations, policies, wage rates and cost improvement programs with our customers and suppliers.
Will provide mentoring, coaching, performance reviews and career development for associates.
Manage customer and supplier relationships.
Training and monitoring subordinate staff.
Responsible for coaching, counseling, and employee discipline as required.
Displays appropriate Leadership Competencies.
Displays Core Values through actions and decisions.
Manages 2 or more subordinates.
In absence of supervisor, assume role and responsibilities and guide department.
Effectively lead change management initiatives.
Drive team focus in Lean environment.
Regulatory & Quality Systems
Chronic defects – conducts root cause investigation and implements counter measures.
Responsible to oversee line stops over 1 or more shifts.
Create and implement internal systems and procedures to ensure quality is built into product.
Evaluate changes in products per organizational risk management practices to ensure effective, safe and compliant devices are released to the market in accordance with current state and federal standards.
Delivery
Stay current in industry regarding developments and trends.
Full accountability for Process Zone.
Measure performance on a regular basis to understand the business and to be able to drive the organization to the next level of performance.
Effective project management (department and cross functional).
Assures standards are being followed.
Creates new standards (raising the bar).
New product/process development coordination.
Establish lead and cycle time goals/targets, manage GAP to target.
Develop and monitor visual and all other reporting systems.

Must be committed to a high standard of safety and be willing and able to comply with all environmental and safety laws and regulations, including the Company’s environmental and safety policies and procedures. Must be willing to report actual and potential environmental and safety violations to appropriate supervisory and/or management personnel.
The incumbent in this position is responsible for knowledge of and adherence to environmental policies and company procedures as they relate to ISO 14001.
Must not pose a direct threat or significant risk of substantial harm to the safety of himself/herself or others.
Responsible for informing the Company if he/she is taking medications or if there are any other circumstances that would interfere with safe performance of job duties.
Responsible for the Monthly 5S audit within areas of responsibility.
Researches Safety violations and leads accident investigations. Ensures safety of the work area and puts containment and counter measures in place as necessary.
QUALITY
The incumbent in this position is responsible for knowledge of and adherence to the policies and procedures as they relate to the requirements of FDA Quality System Regulation, ISO 13485 and ISO 9001 (current revisions).
Must support efforts to improve product quality
Participate in internal and external audits
Bring closure to QSAR and customer complaints
INTERPERSONAL AND COMMUNICATION SKILLS
Must be able to maintain productive working relationships with co-workers. This would include strong coaching skills as well as conflict resolution skills.

Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization
