Production Planner Scheduler

The Production Planner and Scheduler is responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing production schedules to ensure timely delivery of products while maximizing resource utilization and minimizing costs. This role serves as a critical link between sales, supply chain, engineering, and manufacturing teams to align production activities with business goals.
We also consider candidates with exceptional talent and lesser experience, but a minimum of 3 years of industrial experience in a similar role is preferred.
Activities
Created and manage rolling production schedules (typically 5-week plans).
Adjusted schedules based on material availability, labor constraints, and customer priorities.
Released production jobs to stockroom daily once all purchased materials are confirmed on hand.
Planning Coordination
Collaborated with sales and customer service to align production with demand forecasts and customer order dates.
Communicated schedule updates to supply chain, export/import, and shipping departments.
Participated in monthly planning alignment meetings with sales to set priorities.
Inventory & Materials Management
Monitored inventory levels and material bottlenecks daily; coordinated with Stockroom for release of parts to the floor.
Coordinated with procurement to ensure timely delivery of raw materials.
Tracked schedule attainment and identified gaps or delays.
Process Improvement
Analyzed production data to identify inefficiencies and recommended improvements.
Supported continuous improvement initiatives and corrective action processes.
Documentation & Reporting
Maintained accurate records of production schedules, inventory, and supply chain metrics.
Provided weekly updates/reports on job status, units produced, and labor hours.
Qualifications & Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related field preferred.
3+ years of experience in production planning or scheduling in a manufacturing environment.
Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., Syteline) and scheduling tools.
Strong analytical and organizational skills; excellent communication and cross‑functional collaboration abilities.
Preferred: Experience with discrete manufacturing and multi‑cell production environments.
Preferred: Familiarity with quality management systems and lean manufacturing principles.
Preferred: Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced setting.
