MAIN FUNCTION:
Manage and oversee billing and coding staff in duties pertaining to patient billing, insurance, collections, cash posting, account management and contract analysis.
Identify and review medical records for the purpose of reimbursement and compliance with local, state, and federal guidelines according to diagnosis, operation, and procedure using ICT-10-CM, CPT-4, HCPCs, and other recognized transaction code classification systems.
Generate accurate, timely billing; maintain organized billing system while responding to payer request for additional information and utilizing the appeal process when needed.
Assists with assessment of Accounts Receivable, specifically determine whether we are meeting benchmarks and developing plans to address issues.
Continually monitor payer payments to ensure correct reimbursement is received.
EDUCATION:
High School Diploma required
CPC Certification required
CRC & CPMA Certification preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
Five or more years' experience in physician coding and healthcare billing industry required.
