PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR (STARLINK AVIATION) The Starlink Aviation team is looking for an operations supervisor to manage a rapidly growing team of skilled technicians responsible for hardware assembly and testing all Starlink Aviation products, including satellite antennas, power supply units, and WiFi routers. This individual's primary objective will be to ensure that quality hardware is delivered out of the factory efficiently to revolutionize the aviation wireless internet experience worldwide.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage a team of technicians in fabrication of state‑of‑the‑art aerospace hardware in accordance with FAA and AS9100 regulations
Interface with area leadership and prioritize work based on production schedule and organizational goals
Troubleshoot hardware issues in real time, push feedback to correct owners to eliminate repeat issues
Ensure product quality and conformance to specifications and coordinate the disposition of non‑conforming product. Aid in investigations and root‑cause analysis of any non‑conformances
Ensure all build, integration, and test operations are conducted in compliance with all regulatory and safety protocols at all times
Act as technical decision maker and advisor to the team, making impactful strategic decisions that affect overall business outcome, driving:
Personnel training and development
Development and implementation of efficiency improvement projects
Root cause analysis and implementation of corresponding corrective action plans
Reduction of downtime for product and personnel
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
4+ years of experience in a manufacturing and test environment
2+ years of working hands‑on with safety‑critical systems, mechanical assemblies or heavy equipment
6+ months of professional experience leading a team
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Associate or bachelor's degree
Aviation mechanic certificate: Airframe and Powerplant (A+P)
Lean manufacturing training and experience
Demonstrated ability to read, interpret controlled documentation and processes such as cable harnesses, wiring diagrams, layout drawings, mechanical drawings, GD&T, assembly procedures/work instructions, schematics, engineering drawings, and parts lists
Familiarity with Design for Manufacturability, Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Failure Mode Effects Analysis
Experience in a fast‑paced production environment with flight quality hardware
Able to adapt to constant changing work assignments and fast‑paced work environment
Proficient with computers, the ability to use MS Office, shop floor management software (ERP) and related programs
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be willing to work extended hours and weekends as needed
Must be able to stand for long periods of time, climb up and down ladders, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, and stretching may be required to perform the functions of this position
Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs unassisted
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS Pay range: Supervisor, Production: $105,000.00 – $135,000.00 per year.
Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case‑by‑case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job‑related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX. You may also be eligible for long‑term incentives, in the form of company stock, stock options, or long‑term cash awards, as well as potential discretionary bonuses and the ability to purchase additional stock at a discount through an Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
