Health & Safety Support Specialist
to join our central team based in
Northampton . You will provide a high-level of coordination and administrative support, serving as a vital link between the department and the wider business. This role ensures the efficient execution of operational activities—such as health surveillance, internal communications, and timely delivery of outputs—contributing directly to the success of QHSSSE initiatives across the organisation. The role is also responsible and will manage the Occupational Health & QHSE Co‑ordinator
This is a full time, permanent position working Monday to Friday, 08:00 till 16:00 and its
hybrid , working 2 to 3 days in our Head Office in Northampton.
Pay, benefits and more: We’re looking to offer a salary of up to
£40,000.00
per annum and 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays). What you’ll do on a typical day:
Provide comprehensive administrative support to ensure consistency and operational efficiency
Provide clear and concise updates to support senior team prioritisation and decision‑making
Ensure timely and accurate completion of internal and external reporting requirements
Maintain the enforcement actions register, ensuring follow‑up and updates to the legal team on regulatory matters
Manage safety‑related complaints and queries via channels such as the UKI Driver Safety inbox and Ethicspoint, including direct engagement with the public
Develop, monitor, and manage QHSSSE programme and campaign delivery
Support content creation and engagement on platforms such as SharePoint and Workvivo
Develop materials for the communications programme in line with corporate standards
Manage departmental suppliers, memberships, and subscriptions
What you need to succeed at GXO:
Advanced skills in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams) and familiarity with AI tools such as Co‑Pilot for enhanced productivity
Ability to manage multiple priorities independently, ensuring timely delivery of reports, meetings, and campaigns
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions and influence stakeholders
Self‑motivated and capable of adjusting to changing priorities in a fast‑paced environment
Background in logistics or administrative roles (desirable) to support event coordination and supplier management
IOSH Managing Safely qualification (desirable) to support compliance and safety initiatives.
Willingness to travel occasionally as required for meetings and events.
